Computer Training

One-Week Class

Landing a job in an office environment often requires at least a modest knowledge of computers.  To increase your chances of entering this type of position, you can take Goodwill's most  basic computer training - Pre-Vocational Computer Training Program. In this class, you'll gain a general overview of Microsoft Office programs. The one-week program covers:
  • Word
  • Excel
  • Powerpoint
  • Outlook
  • Internet Explorer

To sign up, simply call 615-346-1249 or email us.  If you are interested in a more in-depth training for Microsoft Office, you can sign up for Goodwill's Basic Computer class which lasts for about 10 to 12 weeks and costs $1,450 for non-Goodwill clients.

Basic Computer Class

In this 10 to 12 week class, a Microsoft certified trainer will introduce you to the basics of computer software and hardware. By completing this program, you'll have the skills needed for an entry-level clerical or data-entry position with a goal of typing 35-40 words per minute.

Microsoft programs taught include:
  • Word
  • Excel
  • PowerPoint
  • Access
  • Internet Explorer
  • Outlook (email)
We provide on-going options for enrolling and class curriculum.  Since the class is broken into modules, a student may enroll within two weeks of gaining appropriate funding, usually through a government agency. A study guide is included in the cost of the training modules.
