Goodwill Industries of Middle Tennessee

“They (Goodwill) don’t use my disability against me,” says Robert who is blind in his left eye and has a learning disability.  Robert has worked at a Goodwill store in Nashville for almost two years now. 

“[The jobs I had before] were nightmares.  They treated me like nothing,” says Robert.

In March 2008, Goodwill served 3,247 people and helped place 665 in jobs in the community.  Of that, 431 stayed employed for more than three months.

Goodwill provides more jobs to middle Tennesseans with disabilities than any other employer.

Over 80 percent of Goodwill's workforce is mission-related--meaning more than 80 percent of Goodwill's employees have  disabilities or other barriers to work.
